Dr. Zheng studied and worked in the Department of Internal Medicine, the First Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University Since 1989. He obtained his Ph.D. degree of Nephrology in Sun Yat-sen Medical University. From 1999 to 2003, he worked as a postdoctoral researcher and a visiting scholar at the Huddinge hospital, Royal Karolinska Institute of Sweden. He then, worked as professor, chief physician, doctoral supervisor, chief of blood purification center in the Department of Nephrology, First Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University, a national key subject and key clinical specialty from 2005 to 2017.
In the past 30 years, he has been actively engaged in clinical, scientific research and teaching of internal medicine (kidney disease) in the First Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University. Many clinical and scientific research work has been carried out in the areas of kidney disease, hypertension, diabetic nephropathy, immunological diseases, renal nutrition, hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis, etc. Up till now, he has led and participated more than 15 national and provincial scientific research funds, and published more than 100 papers in domestic and international journals. He has published more than 15 works as the member of editor and as the editor in chief. Due to his excellent academic and clinical work and contribution, Dr. Zheng has won several prizes awarded by Department of Science and Technology of Guangdong Province, Ministry of Education and Ministry of Health.
Dr. Zheng is the Executive council member of intensive care medicine of Chinese Association for Disaster & Emergency Rescue Medicine, standing committee member of nephrology committee, Chinese Research Hospital Association. Standing member and of the Blood Purification Committee and management, China Research Hospital Association, Deputy director of blood purification branch committee and management, Guangdong Province Hospital Association, Chair of the Internal Medicine Physicians committee of Shenzhen Medical Doctor Association.
