Kunming Tongren Hospital (“KMTRH”) is the largest general hospital in southern part of Kunming City, Yunnan Province, the PRC. Not only does it serve the ethnically diverse community of Kunming itself, but also many nearby, rapidly-developing Southeast Asian countries.
KMTRH is a multi-specialty, Level 3, private, for-profit integrated hospital that integrates the functions of clinical treatment, prevention, rehabilitation, health management, medical education, research, and international academic exchanges.
Kunming Tongren Hospital covers an area of about 286 acres, with a designed capacity of 1,000 beds, 500 of which will be opened in the first phase. It has nearly 1,000 employees, including more than 100 experts with associate senior titles or above. It has built a chest pain center, stroke center, trauma center, atrial fibrillation center, heart failure center, hypertension target center and Yunnan Province Emergency Center Network Emergency Station certified by authoritative institutions, and has opened 37 clinical departments (cardiovascular medicine, respiratory medicine, gastroenterology, neurology, intensive care medicine, renal endocrinology, blood purification center, geriatric medicine, infectious diseases, rehabilitation medicine, oncology, hematology, traditional Chinese medicine, pain medicine, pediatrics, Children’s Health Management Center, Dermatology, Preventive Health Care, Clinical Nutrition, Health Management Center, Cardiothoracic Surgery, General Surgery, Orthopedics, Spine and Spinal Cord Department, Neurosurgery, Urology, Vascular Surgery, Ophthalmology, Otorhinolaryngology, Stomatology, Medical Cosmetology, Gynecology, Obstetrics, Postpartum Rehabilitation and Pelvic Floor Treatment Center, Emergency Medicine, Anesthesiology, Trauma ICU); 7 medical technology departments (Medical Imaging, Ultrasound Medicine, Clinical Pathology, Medical Laboratory, Clinical Blood Transfusion, Pharmacy, Disinfection Supply Center); 4 functional examination rooms (cardiac function examination room, pulmonary function examination room, neurological function examination room, digestive endoscopy center). At the same time, high-standard laminar flow operating rooms, ICU, CCU and other facilities also provide strong guarantees for the development of various disciplines and technologies.
In 2016, Kunming Tongren Hospital passed the joint evaluation of Yunnan Provincial Department of Education and Yunnan Provincial Health Commission and officially became the affiliated hospital of Kunming Medical University Haiyuan College. In December 2024, the hospital became a teaching hospital of Kunming Medical University. In 2017, with the approval of Yunnan Provincial Department of Science and Technology and Kunming Municipal Science and Technology Bureau, Kunming Tongren Hospital officially established the “Academician Su Guohui Workstation” and “Academician Workstation in the Field of Spinal Cord Injury Research in Kunming”. From 2020 to 2024, the hospital joined hands with well-known domestic experts to build the “Fan Junming Expert Workstation”, “Feng Limin Expert Workstation”, “Xu Wangbin Expert Workstation”, “He Shuangba Expert Workstation”, “Liu Yin Expert Workstation”, “Chen Jie Expert Team Workstation”, “Han Chao Expert Workstation”, “Li Shiting Expert Workstation”, “Zhang Hao Expert Team Workstation” and “Academician Su Guohui Expert Workstation”. In 2023, with the recommendation of Kunming Tongren Hospital, Academician Su Guohui and Professor Fan Junming were rated as “Spring City Industry Mentors” of Kunming by the Talent Work Leading Group of the Kunming Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China.
Kunming Tongren Hospital has always implemented the service concept of “people-oriented, patient priority” and continuously developed new technologies and new businesses.
